Horrendous Mod Drop Rates: Working as Intended

Story time:

Today I wanted to get good mods, like any player. So I spent 2 cantina refreshes and used my regular cantina energy so that I had around 300 to spend on mods. Yay!!

After spending it all, guess how many mods I got that were useful...0, as expected.

HOWEVER, guess how many mods I got at all...0. ZERO mods from 300 energy spent. I'd like to call this bad RNG but something tells me this can't possibly be the case. There's no way in gosh darn heck that someone can spend 300 energy and get zero mods out of it.

I knew the drop rates were bad but this is just a whole new level of hilarity. I just laughed when I saw it. I even simmed in groups of 3 to achieve some perceived optimal drop rate, but still, zero mods.

Alright, story time is over.

  • This is why I'm still farming character shards with my cantina energy hoping they fix this mess....
  • They sure did nerf the drop rates. All I know is that before this last update you ALWAYS got gear in some form or some other. Now sometimes you'll get nothing but training droids and credits... that used to never happen. So you can draw your own conclusions. It really sucks that they went from a 100% drop rate to this... I keep thinking back at the conversation that @EA_Jesse started. People came at him a little hard, maybe harder than they should, but he was telling people that he was trying to have an honest conversation with the community and he was trying to bring up the issues back to the development team. One of the first things th thrue people said they wanted was to bring back the 100% drop rate. He said he was talking to some of the team about this... Well... EPIC FAIL! Or maybe it's another glaring example of not caring about the community and what they want? How did that conversation go? Going from taking away the 100% drop rate, down to a "reasonable" drop rate and now down even lower...
  • Here's what I've noticed about mod drop rates...the more of a grouping (speed, health, offense) that you have unequipped, the lower the drop rate goes. I started selling off the detritus and noticed much better mods drop!

What's this you say about bad drop rates?

Yes, that's good! I can't hear that crying anymore. Everybody here awaits tons of mods because of his f2p investion for Scoundrels, Rebels and First order!
If the droprate was better, then some people here would cry because of the bad speed secondaries (not 20Speed). Come on people, you see that the bad mod drop rate is only half the thruth. You only talk about things, which don't let you win by now. Sometimes i spend 400 crystals for mod challenges and even don't get one blue mod. Sometimes i spend 100 crystals and get two Type A mods. So where is the problem? It's part of the game. If you don't like it, you can quit this game @any time....
