How good really is Clone Sarge?

As far as dps goes, I think he's a B on his own. In a synergy team I think he can easily go to A. I am in a similar boat as the op. I've always wanted to have a clone team but missed the boat on Rex. So having Ani as a new lead will definitely get me to finish Clone Sarg to give him some action. I have him at G9 and 6* right now and Ani almost at 6*. Prob another moth before it all comes together, but look forward to it.
