How important are pilot levels in ship battles?
I have the Jedi Consular at level 71. Should I spend the 3.6m credits to upgrade him to 85, purely for ship battles? Or is the difference to power so negligible that it's not worth it?

That is sooooooo depressing to hear. At level 71, I don't have the credits. None of my pilots are part of my arena team or my better GW toons so they sit 10-15 levels below me.
That's alright. Focus on the thing that's important to you right now--whether that's good raid teams, good arena team, getting Scoundrels together so you'll have credits in the future, whatever. You can profit from ships even at low ranks. Jedi Consular will still be there when you're ready!
