When ships are included it's much easier to reach kyber league. You can reach it quite easily even with 3 losses (75% win rate).
You're missing the fact that whenever a player loses a round because of a bug another player wins the round because of the same bug. The only progress lost is a few points for the battle itself. The 1600 points for the win is still rewarded - only to a different player. I don't see how CG would use this in any way to increase spending. If one player would spend more (according to your theory), wouldn't the other player spend less?
