Hunter of Hunters

Okay, I've seen the new Tales of the Jedi, and while Dooku seems to have some continuity problems with his story as we previously knew it, the Ahsoka series, while short, is pretty good.

But of course with that conclusion, I am now on freakin fire to see a new Ahsoka Tano: Hunter of Hunters

In her basic stance she has no weapon, but her limbs twitch with ready action. She draws and holsters her lightsaber each time she uses her basic, except when Intimidating Resolve is active, during which she keeps her lightsabers constantly in hand.

Ahsoka Tano: Hunter of Hunters
Ahsoka Tano, Hunter of Hunters is a hero to those who have none. She travels far from armies and capitals to protect the weak from the ravages of the Empire, with a special focus on protecting the young and defeating the Inquisitors who would rob the galaxy of the next generation of hope. She does not seek to lead, much less rule. She only seeks to preserve and defend long enough for balance to return to the Force.

She Is Jedi (Basic):
If Ahsoka's current health % is less than the target enemy, equalize health with the target. If greater than the target gain Foresight. Then if the target is a Dark Side Unaligned Force user or an Empire character who is not a Sith and it is Ahsoka's turn, there is a 50% chance to inflict Corrupted Battle Meditation. Then deal physical damage.

Call Me if You Need Anything (Special): Cooldown = 3
Cleanse all debuffs from target ally even those that cannot normally be removed, cleansed or dispelled, next cleanse Ahsoka of normal debuffs, then Ahsoka and target ally equalize Health% and the ally gains Stealth and Heal over Time for 2 turns, and Guard until this ability is used again. If any debuffs were cleansed by this ability all allies gain +2% tenacity per debuff removed until the end of the battle.

You're Supposed to Be Dead (Special): Cooldown = 4
Inflict Health Down on all enemies and increase all Enemy cooldowns by 1 (cooldown increase cannot be resisted). For each enemy with Health Down, Ahsoka gains +20% bonus protection (stacking). Then Ahsoka dispels all debuffs on herself and gains Intimidating Resolve until the end of her next turn. This ability starts on cooldown and its cooldown is reduced by one each time any other ally is defeated for the first time.

Intimidating Resolve (Unique Buff: Cannot be copied, dispelled or prevented): -100 speed, +60% Defence and CounterChance +10% per defeated ally (not including summoned allies). While Intimidating Resolve is active, enemies cannot target other Allies, enemies cannot gain buffs except on their own turn, and other allies may not gain debuffs on enemies' turns. A character with Intimidating Resolve who gains foresight immediately dispels Foresight and gains +5% offence (stacking) until the end of that character's next turn. When Intimidating Resolve expires, deal special damage to all enemies and then deal special damage equal to the character's current Bonus Protection divided evenly among all enemies, then dispel all Bonus Protection.

Again! (Unique):
Whenever Ahsoka Tano takes damage, she loses 5% Turn Meter and gains 3% CounterChance until the end of the encounter. At the end of every turn, Ahsoka gains Foresight. If Ahsoka already has Foresight, she instead grants Foresight to the weakest ally who does not have it. The first time each enemy turn an ally loses Foresight, Ahsoka gains +15% bonus protection (stacking). Each additional time on the same enemy turn that an ally loses foresight, Ahsoka gains +5% bonus protection (stacking). If when an enemy starts its turn Ahsoka has no other active LS allies and also does not have Intimidating Resolve, Ahsoka escapes the battle.

Hunter of Hunters (Unique):
Ahsoka Tano is immune to Fear, Purge and Torture. If all allies are LS and there is no ally with a leadership ability present at the beginning of the battle (whether that leadership ability is active or not), all allies are immune to Purge and Torture whenever Ahsoka is active. While any ally has Guard, Ahsoka has +35% Health Steal. At the beginning of battle, Ahsoka gains +10% Max health per Enemy Inquisitorious. At the beginning of the battle and whenever Ahsoka is revived, all LS allies who are not Jedi gain Accuracy equal to Ahsoka's accuracy.

  • Do we not have enough Ahsoka in-game? Enough with iterations of a few toons. It took CG almost 7 years to put Jabba in the game. 6 to rework the only Mace...

I get your enthusiasm, but it really is an opportunity cost they face.

The only way I would straight-up shut-up and agree with the need for this is if they made it a GL.
  • I’m not normally a fan of fan kits but @MasterSeedy this is a work of art.

Only thing I would change - in honour of the duel with the inquisitor (& I’d love to see him slide into the game…) - a move where she doesn’t draw any weapon but just disarms and cuts down her opponent with their own weapon as an instafrag ultimate. Hard to code I grant (not impossible though if you take a reasonably generic approach to each of the main categories of a enemy weapon).

I really enjoyed that duel by the way - it felt like what Kenobi should have felt like rather than two blokes poncing about in a gravel pit

And I get the opportunity cost. I'm fully aware that we probably won't get this, but it was damn fun to write up.

If I understand the episodes correctly, it really seemed like they were heavily implying (though I admit that they did not outright state) that Dooku was still in the order during Phantom Menace, and... if I understand the past canon correctly, that's pretty wrong. He should have been gone from the order by then.

Maybe he's just hanging out in the temple as a guest? But it sure looked like they were portraying him as still a member.

Thanks so much for your vote of appreciation! It had been a couple days, so I wasn't sure if anyone liked it.

About your references to Episode 6:
    Spoiler
Yeah, I suggested that she keep her lightsabers holstered except when attacking (Han Solo does this with his blaster), but I don't know how to code that she takes the enemy's weapon from their hands.

I did try to get the flavour of that scene into the unique buff Intimidating Resolve, where she stands still (or at least loses 100 speed) waiting for the enemy to move first, counter-attacks, and then at the end of her next turn releases her huge hit dumping all her bonus protection into a burst of damage. It's not exactly the same as standing still, waiting for them to attack, stealing their weapon and then releasing a huge burst of damage, but it's what I could do without calling for coding that I didn't think CG could manage.
