Hyperdrive bundle character already 7 star

This may have been answered already but I didn't see it. If you already have a 7 star character that is included in the bundle, do you keep the bundle shards as convertible for the store?

Yeah, I mean, it's totally unreasonable that they don't want people to get up to 141,000 shard store currency for a hundred bucks, on top of the gear and mats and currency that already comes in the bundle. How dare they.
