The only real ‘cost’ to me is time and crystals to keep up on the currency. But the LSTs that you can get after pay that back WAY more. Its a lot better than gearing, at least for me. I’ve saved piles of Kyrotech.

Yeh same here. As a f2p I don't mind it at all. I just wish they'd put it in the Arena table and put the old main table back.
Keep in mind that people who complain are part of a vocal, engaged minority. They might be the majority of those who care to post on forums or be active on reddit and Discord, but we're not hearing a chorus of complaints from 300k players.
There's a non-zero chance that some dissatisfied customer with a random alphanumeric name will post itt just to call you a shill.
