To all of you who have responded thus far... thank you! GreenSunRedMoon, I had not yet considered reading the book format of the movies... that is a great suggestion, and I am putting it on my list of things to read. OutrunWhistle2, I understand your hesitation. Unfortunately, this is the one place I can talk with strangers online... 😕. Some day, we might be able to talk... however, until I am allowed more options, I am limited to this. Rouge_Albert, I shall certainly read or watch movie I-IV of Star Wars... studying how to connect with readers/ the audience is a good suggestion. I will also add "Master And Apprentice" as well as "Tarkin" to my list of books to read... thank you! I will also re-watch Andor as time permits to get into the skill of writing good dialog. As for you, DarjeloSalas... you are not wrong, I could use some work on cutting my words down. Everyone in the world, no matter how good a writer or speaker, has struggled with saying too little or too much... as you have observed, I tend to be long-winded. However, I will say that there is a difference between writing novels and writing forums posts. With novels, scenes shift and action occurs... paragraphs are used to break the text up into readable portions for the audience. Preferably, the chunks are divided in such a way as to flow with the changes in action. In a forums post... well, there isn't much but the one idea you are trying to get across. I don't see a reason to break my posts into smaller chunks... however, that is just a style preference.

Stating that paragraph use is a style preference hurts my head more than the wall of text you posted - which is not something I say lightly.
In the post I’m quoting, for instance, why on earth wouldn’t you use a separate paragraph for each individual you are replying to?

DarjeloSalas, I actually didn't say that paragraph usage is a preference. I said that choosing to write block posts on forums is a preference... mine, specifically. I am sorry that you do not like how I write, it is not my intention to "hurt your head." However, the way people write varies dramatically from person to person. Furthermore, to answer your question (though I answered it in the portion of text you quoted), I didn't break my previous post up since it all revolved around a general response... I asked for advice, I received advice, so I thanked people for advice. To quote myself, "In a forums post... well, there isn't much but the one idea you are trying to get across. I don't see a reason to break my posts into smaller chunks..." I think I actually answered your question pretty well... 🤣. To help people who skim any message I send, I italicize player's names so that they know to whom I am talking. It makes it easier for others to follow along. Anyway, when you posted originally, I chose to take your semi-harsh post light-heartedly... so much so that I was willing to also poke fun at tendencies I know I have. I acknowledged that my brain processes writing differently that most (whether for better or for worse), and even attempted to find a peaceable common ground by saying that paragraphs certainly belong in literature (and essays, I'll give you that one as well... 😉). However, for some reason, you chose to ignore that by asking me to restate my reason for not utilizing paragraphs. I can't state it much better than I already have. As such, I will leave it there for now. God bless.

You’re not the only one that sees his posts a wall of text.
