Welcome! Best advice I can give you is watch a couple of youtubers, and get some guidance for your early game journey! Obviously, just like life, you're perfectly free to do things your own way, but, again, just like life, it is definitely sometimes worth listening to people who know what they're talking about to help you understand some of the less obvious things!

I personally recommend AhnaldT101, Nooch2gud, and Xaereth Prevails. Ahnald has a couple of killer guides available as Xcel spreadsheets and is incredibly entertaining at the same time, Xaereth gets pretty technical, and, as he says himself, Nooch is your Star Wars dad!

I would personally recommend watching some songeta videos to see how he managed his roster in the most productive way possible. Farm some great teams and once you get into mid game, check out Calvin awesome to find some really useful small tips.
