I'm a F2P and using Dooku myself (rank 1), top 40 in my server there are are about 40% Dooku, 40% QGJ and the rest are Phasma + Droid. Only the droid teams and me has no QGJ haha.
F2P people only has a handful of characters (around 7 well geared guys which can be used in the arena?), it's
a terrible sample used to do the testing. And some people arena line-up can be easily countered by Dooku.
And whenever some people say that they find this and that OP, we should always question that:
+ What is their line-up and the enemy's lineup.
+ How well they play (like, do they also care about other mechanics)
+ Do they play long enough (with which line-up), and record everything to draw out that conclusion (may not even be statistical, but because they got beaten and then exaggerating stuff)
+ Just because some handful of the people post here, does not mean it happens for every people out there who play the game.
+ Each server may have a different playstyle. Some of the guys at the top can dictate the server meta, and others counter them. And Dooku's leader ability, for example, just turned out to be a good min-max atm.
+ And then maybe some other thing
Or they swing toward different trends and just jump onto the bandwagon.
Some people might even put "Dodge" on the same par with "Resist", "Deflect" and exaggerating too much when they're frustrated. Or maybe just their 1 shot guy cannot perform the 1 shot thingy.
With my current line-up, and battling with the whales, I think Dooku is ok, or pretty good at best, not OP like some people claim. I battle against him and won most of the time, even against the most tricky team that include Dooku + GR and 2 cannon like Rey, GS
If there is any solid in-game test can be done, it's gonna be from big whales who has every characters maxed out (even opinions from them may be wrong if either the test they've done or their analysis are biased, but people may still listen to them cause they are simply whales).
In my opinion, Dodge is not the everything. Like I said 90% of top people in my server has QGj in their linu-up, so Dooku + his extreme high potency can stop him --> he does not call assist with 75% increased damage and take down 1 of your guy.
Some people may claim it's OP because also give Offense up. But QGJ can remove it and gives to his team. Battling with the whales times to times, with their current lineup in most cases, QGJ is not even a primary target to kill I want to kill, I only use Dooku to stall him. I may consider to kill him in some cases to give Sid a boost in turn meter when I need it.
His counter is only a minor bonus for me, because against, whales often got 2 hard hit cannons, he pretty much death when get hit. QGJ is often the only Jedi in their line-up, if he call an assist in the 2nd and he's dead. I only uses Dooku's top speed + Phasma 50% turn meter gain to stop QGJ in the first 2 turn.
Dodge or Offence Up does not even play a big part in my Win condition to win against the top people either, especially against the whales. It's a bonus when it happens, but it largely depends on whether either my Phasma or Poggle can get their buff up, after that, I most likely to win (with 2 buff on, I win like 90% of the time). Phasma can crit like 8k or higher with 2 buffs up. Poggle can hit decently with the 2 buffs on, sometimes I take out their glass cannons with below half heath with 1 hit when he crit. When against Rey, it largely depends on whether my Sid w/ his uber speed can place a debuff on her to negate her unique offense up (which happens quite often, since Rey has not so high tenacity), so she may not 1 shot my guys, especially Sid, even after all her attacks landed.
Even after a dodge, if you cannot find a proper way to burst down their cannons, it accounts for nothing, especially against team with taunter like RG and it just prolongs your pain.
