Inventory Defaults to Era Units, But Why?
Of all the design decisions that they made, this is the most obviously psychologically motivated while being the most brain-dead from a player perspective.
There is only ONE (1) available era unit.
There are over 300 other units. You have a glowing tower to Stormtrooper Luke in the Cantina where everything you want to do to the unit can be done, even though there's far less to do for StLuke than for everything else in your inventory. Giving it that much cantina prominence is already overblown for the actual importance of that toon.
But then you click on Collection in the top left and it automatically takes you... to Luke.
I get that you're proud of your work. I get that you desperately want ppl to engage with the new Era Unit system, but THERE'S NOTHING TO DO in the Era Toon screen. We're not adding mods, we're not clicking on unfinished gear pieces to find where we can farm the salvage. We can't use them to check on how our relic mat or signal data farms are going, which, hey, sometimes I do with a character I don't actually want to up-relic just because they're at the top of the sort and I don't need to search for the character I want to up-relic if I don't have all the requirements yet.
When we click on Collection, we want our actual inventory, we want to go to the inventory of toons we actually have, toons we can actually interact with, toons whose abilities, gear, relics, and mods we might actually want to fine-tune before the next join deadline for GAC or TW. And when we don't want that, we want ships or datacrons, not the Era Toons none of us can use in any mode that matters.
Yay. You're very proud and happy about StLuke. Congratulations for you. Now think about the players are nuke this default so that players can get on with what we actually are able to do - and want to do - in the game.
"Collection" should always default to "Characters," never to "Era Toons."
When you think about it, it shouldn't link to Era Toons at all. Era Toons are walled off as a separate game mode, so make the Era Toons tab accessible from your glowing StLuke hologram/statue. Era Toons are not connected to your inventory, so why intermingle them in the first place? Literally everything else in the Inventory is interconnected. Datacrons can be used with squads which can be saved as presets which include individual characters which can pilot ships.
You know what isn't connected? Era Toons. It's not connected to anything else. And it has its own place on the cantina holotables. PLEASE nuke this wrongheaded design decision.
