Here is an interesting video about sandbagging and how it can benefit guilds.

Pretty interesting video. Thanks.
It clearly shows that active sandbagging happens, how it works, and that it pays off.
So, Rius_975518199, stop pretending it doesn't exist. Maybe your guild doesn't do it, or at least not consciously.
OP is absolutely right about a toxic situation in TW. CG should do something about it. At the very least, the reward levels need to be raised.

I watched the video and xarith points provide some crude calculations as usual he also used one guild as an example. I prefer his datacrons stuff but even this video does not prove this is done beyond the one example he provides. He also clarified it’s a game mechanic to allow not to sign up so there is nothing wrong with it.
- He also mentioned there is no guarantee of a squishy matchup. One thing he forgot was the algorithm should be pairing by a measure of “quality” not just GP. Last communication was years ago and it was left vague so we could not game the system on purpose. But it was thought this could be number of relics or something like that.
- You will likely match other guilds of similar GP because they are similar quality. So “sandbagging” guilds will often face similar “sandbagging” guilds. Which is our experience.
- I have been in 3 guilds 400-580 GP in the last two years all had optional sign ups. It was not scheduled, the rule has always been only sign ups if you compete.
- The last guild I was in with mandatory sign ups was a 300M guild trying to get droid brains. So the problem is with guilds trying to scrape rewards with inactive or poorly prepared TW members. I was an officer in that guild so we know why we lost and it was not “sandbagging”. Too many no shows.
- For the last 15 wins in my guild we have 7 losses. This is because despite having optional sign ups we also face trench matches. My guild is above average for TW effort they chase datacrons and TW omi’s so this is not a surprising win rate.
- If you get extremely wonky matches they maybe your trench match.
- I highly suspect the data xarith used is derived from a guild with zero trench matches due to maxed GP. Which fortunately for you is out of the 200-400M bracket.
- Players in my bracket play TW for fun or stuff other than droid brains, I have nearly every R9 req and hundreds of droid brains. The other materials to R9 is the limiting factor not droid brains. A low win rate so a casual guild winning just trench matches will be sufficient for droid brains in the 380M bracket. Believe it or not I want the zeta’s more at this point in the game. Most need relic scrap or new character shards more.
Finally I still do not disagree with increasing more rewards with more tiers. We still have significantly more than the top tier and would benefit from more rewards. I just dislike the idea of players suggesting players should not be allowed to take a weekend off the game. Although sounds like xarith was suggesting just increasing the GP for the tiers which would push droid brains further up out of smaller guilds reach.

It's actually quite simple. My guild has 480 million GP and 47 members, for example. That's an average of 10 million. That's a level where people need the rewards, even the consolation prize for losing. That's why up to 45 people sign up every time, even though it's not mandatory.
It should simply not be possible by game design to have to compete against an opponent whose average is 12 or 13 million, even if they are significantly fewer in number.
For us, it feels like trench wars in particular often involves encounters of this kind.
I don't really care whether a guild deliberately sandbags or not. And I don't blame them. Smaller guilds with higher activity are penalized by the current system precisely because of this activity.TW needs an overhaul .... that's all about it.
