I don't mind the new content, it was clearly planned to be added. I'd like more bug fixes and rebalances, but I understand that it's new content that drives profit. However, the sheer amount of time things are taking up is getting to be too extreme:
Tank raid takes a long time due to animations, which was a willing choice on their end. Completely unneeded. It serves no purpose other than to kill time. Having the tank rotate isn't visually appealing or a stunning cut scene that will wow us with In game graphics, it's an artificial time sink. This should have never been released in this status, or at least updated within the first week.
Tournaments are a GIANT time sink that truly only benefit a small number of players. Each bracket holds 5000 players, only the top 100 get a full toon. That's 2% of the the player base gets rewards worth the effort. It's an even smaller number if you are under lvl 80, I believe .05%. For the hours of game time people need to spend to be competitive, the rewards are underwhelming. And it's boring.
The timers on everything are to drive longer and repeated activity, that's a number they care about. Fine, I get it. But give us a way to pay our way through it. Either crystals or extra sim tickets would be fine. Whales will spend crystal to save time, ftp will spend sim tickets for the same reason. And if they run out might actually buy the sim ticket packs.
Ships will add a whole new layer to this. The content will probably be good, and add to the swgoh experience. But based on previous and current releases, I am deeply worried about how much extra time it will be deliberately designed to take up. Not too mention how it may amplify the bug fixes and rebalances that we still need. I want a lean and efficient Star Wars experience that allows me to enjoy a game in that universe, not a mindless slog of time consuming and useless interactions.
