While I wouldn't object to these being added back in to raid rewards, having them strip all the different salvage types is far superior than when raid rewards included all the crap I have 5000+ of. That gold eyeball salvage took a hit in the process of improving raid rewards overall is a price I am willing to pay.
And while I don't have the 2k+ I had a year or more ago, I'll say the same thing I said back then. The salvage isn't the bottleneck. You get a number of these every week from challenges. The real bottleneck is the prototype you need to farm to match them up with. By the time you can farm 50 prototypes you've probably gotten the 60 salvage from the challenges anyway. (If your spending crystals to get prototypes enmass, then yes you will need to farm/spend crystals to get enough salvage too - but that is true for a number of high level gear pieces).
hey did not improve the tank rewards. If you think they have, you haven't actually been doing the raid. I finish top three every raid and 90% of the gear is garbage. They removed some trash, and also removed the eyeballs we need a ton of. And the net result was a big negative, because most of the time we just get different trash than the trash they removed.
Also, the sheer number of gold eyeballs that are needed for good toons makes the prototype vs challenge argument irrelevant.
/shrug. The change was made across all raids, the fact that the difference between the "good" gear from tank raid and the "bad" gear from tank raid are pretty much equal in value... But if you'd rather challenge gear return to sith/pit so you can get gold eyeballs from tank so it can be like the good old days?
And your obviously doing something wrong if you are having no problems getting plenty of prototypes but have a shortage of salvage :)
Are you actually arguing your gear has been better since they changed it? Again, have you actually been doing tank?
Do you have a source on them changing pit raids. I have no memory of that raid having the same gear.
So yeah, I'd rather them go back. Because it would be identical to how it is now except I'd have a better chance to get some salvage I need.
Of course I'm doing HAAT raids. But I don't actually bother to take note of what drops I get. It's irrelevant to me as taking note of it won't change what I get. I only look at the characters I'm currently gearing and I either have the piece to equip, or I don't. And if I don't I go farm it/buy it in shops. If the raid drops a piece I need, great. If it doesn't... it doesn't.

I don't recall when exactly they implemented the changes to remove it. It would have been nice if they'd kept ges (gold eyeball salvage) in tank like they kept carbanti's in pit. But they didn't. It is still a net gain (imo) that challange gear was removed from all raids at the loss of ges.
