Jar Jar support is overwhelming

My opinion of Phantom Menace hasn’t changed since I first saw it: it’s a minstrel show from start to finish - with maybe two redeeming features. 1, the costumes were good. 2, it made me critically re-evaluate Caravan of Courage as perhaps not the worst Star Wars movie of all time.

So speaking of costumes - how come we don’t have a thread about Queen Amidala? There’s an interesting character (and as far as I can tell, loosely based on Secession era Austrian art, so we can talk about her without stereotyping anyone except a few old goatherds somewhere who are too full of schnapps to give a monkey’s).
