Jedi Training Leia Mods

What do you think her ideal mod setup will be? Speed is usually a good bet but reading her kit made it seem like speed won’t be a huge priority for her so maybe offense and then protection for survivability? What do y'all think?

  • She works by being called to assist and generate Jedi Lesson stacks for her special, JMLs ulti and additional max protection for JML. The opponent will want to focus her hard as the longer she lives, the harder she hits and the more annoying JML gets. She also gets 100% defense, and all jedi's get max 100% protection while she's alive. Lastly JML gets mass revive when he ults if Leia lives. In short: you don't want her to die. Speed is largely irrelevant, you want her low speed to stack jedi lessons on assists even after she receives her speed bonus (max 150).

I would guess a tripple defense set with protection primaries. No speed, no potency, no crit chance needed. For secondaries focus raw defense, protection, tenacitu, and offense. Keep her alive, call her to assist, build that max Prot on JML and don't ult untill the team has had 8 jedi lessons in total, and you've called her to assist 10 times. The latter will likely take longer. Put Hoda's buff on her first.

I know she's an attacker, but the team doesn't lack offense, especially not with the increased protection she adds to JML. Keeping her alive seems more of a priority than having her deal some damage early in the fight with focus on offense and CD.

I'm seeing her kit and thinking: easily countered but not by the current meta counters. Still gets hard countered by the teams that can ignore taunt. JML/CAT (instakill) and SLKR/Drey (stunlock). However, current cheap counters like Reva, GM, and SEE might have a much tougher time. She will also make JML more useable on offense, though I'm unsure what teams he'll be able to take on.

This is good analysis. I haven't read her kit yet, but I trust your reading. Thanks for putting in the time for all of us.

  • Give it another day or so, and if no one pokes a major hole in Fightguy92 's recommendations, you should pick that post as a solution.

It's always respectful to recognize the work of someone who takes the time to give a good answer to a question you asked.

I can see the Prot on the triangle, cross and circle, with Prot, Prot %, Health and Tenacity.  Def Mods sounds about right.  What about a Crit Avoidance arrow prot, health, tenacity and off - instead of a prot arrow?

I disagree on the Offence part, I believe they suit her well. An Offence and Defence set with a secondary focus on Protection, Health, Defence etc sounds ideal to me.

Caveat folks, it's just a guess :) There's many more folks out there who will figure out optimal ways to use her probably long before you or I do.

OutrunWhistle perhaps. Although SEE is the cheapest GL, and I'm not using SEE to counter any other GLs atm. At least, not without Bane. GM and Reva are quite cheap teams to build and they function well on r7. Reva is just locked behind RotE if you're not in a higher guild. All players just got the Inq team at G13 for free last year. If in future it indeed will take a JMK or SLKR to take JML/Leia off the board, that's a steep increase in offensive cost. Same caveat as above.

it's going to depend on how easy she is to kill (and thus how easy it is to access the revive for other Jedi). If she hardly ever goes down with an off set, then you might as well take it. If she's fragile you'll need every bit of survivability since remember that most of her damage is going to be the %Protection bonus, which is totally unaffected by offence, but goes up every time she's called with Inherited Teachings.

If most of her offence isn't coming from the offence stat, then Off mods are probably not the best way to go.

That said, a small bonus is better than no bonus, so if she's always surviving, might as well drop Off mods on her... but only if you have them to spare.

For me, I'm constantly running short on Off mods, and we're overloaded with Health mods -- and while I don't go out of my way to keep a large number of Def mods around, most of the toons that want defense don't need to be fast, so I can steal some of my fastest from other toons and replace them with slower mods that are just as good at survivability.

From a roster standpoint then, getting a good set of JTLeia mods that reinforce each other is easier when going survivability / protection than going Offense.

Your mod collection is going to be different than mine. If you've got an overdose of good Off mods, then go for it. But I will likely follow FightGuy's overall plan.
