Just unlocked Rex's Ship & need some advice

I run Rex's Arc under Mace w/ 5's, CS, Plo and JC. Rex's basic gives target lock and his special is great as well as his passive...but, his damage is the lowest I have seen of any ship in my fleet. It's a slow battle when u face Ackbar who can heal/cleanse as fast as u can do damage.

Rex 7*, gear XI, full 5* mods. Rex's Arc lvl 85, 6*
