2. I don't think its strange since Kenobi was living in a small bubble isolated from news and things, he went to work, he looked after Luke and ended his day like so for 10 years
That line could have so easily been rewritten to be like "How can you only be 10 years old?" or "Are you sure you're only 10 years old?"
