I would like to start with saying that I love the original movies. However, people really should stop talking about them as if they were the biggest masterpieces ever that couldn't be touched. They were great and the effects were awesome for their time. But please let's be real. Lucas contradicted himself in the OG Trilogy alone, they had their fair share of mistakes and it is clear that he didn't have the story fully fleshed out and/or changed it. But that's ok. The movies still are great and I don't mind the discrepancies.
I really like the Kenobi Show. The character is 3 dimensional, realistic and human. He is not the typical Gary Stu who immediately turns into this badass fighter again the minute he is in danger. Ewan does an awesome job and I like that they chose this route for Kenobi. I am more tired of the same clichés and tropes we are constantly being fed by Hollywood and it is nice to see a deviation from that. For that reason I also hope that 3rd Sister does not have a 180 turn in the end and redeems herself. It would be the same old, same old.
Now, Star Wars is all about closed circles so it might very well be possible they go with her there aswell. But imho I would like it more, if they didn't.
I think some just have a problem, because they had this image in their head and it is not being met, so they dislike it. I think it is absolutely realistic that the once great Jedi has fallen into depression, despair, fear and doubt and lost all confidence in himself aswell as his fighting skills. After all, until recently he had to live with the fact that not only the Jedi fell and got nearly wiped out, but also that he killed his best friend who was like a brother to him and whom he taught... and failed, thereby also failing his Master and keeping his promise.
