Kylo Ren Rework - Trying to keep with the lore

I know this idea has been beat to death. I thought I would put my two cents in as well.
I want to keep with the lore and make him fun and usable

The key part of his skills shown in the movie were, the jagged lightsabre, being able to read minds, and stopping the blaster bolt in mid air.
One thing that is often overlooked is his durability and using pain to fuel his dark side powers. Main example of this, surviving a shot from Chewie's bowcaster and then during the battle striking the wound to keep him amped up.

Now look at his skills

Single Target Skills
Ragged Cut - Deal Physical damage to target enemy with a 55% chance to inflict Healing Immunity for 1 turn and a 75% chance to inflict Damage Over Time for 3 turns.

Outrage - Deal Physical damage to target enemy. This attack deals 75% more damage if Kylo is below 50% Health.

The ragged cut comes from the lightsabre not from the skills itself. The change I purpose is remove the dot from the base attack and apply it all attacks.

Outrage while seems fitting at first, but it doesn’t truly fit his style.

Deep Gash - Deal Physical damage to target to remove all buffs and deal 25% more damage for each DoT on the target.

I think this fits his role in the movie. Think of his battle with Finn.

Lash will be his core skill.

Lash Out - Deal Physical damage to all enemies. 40% chance to cast Lash out when damaged.
3 turn cooldown.to cast, no cooldown on "counter attack"

Keep the base damage low, but it will punish AoE teams with mass dots.

Passives

Unstoppable - Kylo has a 50% chance to reset his cooldowns whenever he is damaged.

I want to change the passive of Jagged Cut and his Outrage Passive.

Pain is my Power – All damage skills cause 1 damage over time, two on critical strike. Also, For every 1% health missing Kylo gains 1% offence and 1% potency.

New Ability

In the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary page on Kylo Ren: Says this about him,

The dark side flows through Kylo Ren, making almost unstoppable force on the field of battle. His reflexes and telekinetic defense are immense – he is able to stop an incoming blaster bolt and bolt it in place for several seconds before releasing it. He is also a master of telepathic intrusion, using this ability to coerce or torment his prisoners into revealing secret information.

3 things come to my mind when reading this.

Stun, turn meter reduction and foresight.

Dark Intrusion – Stun target for one turn, remove 50% turn meter and if stun is successful gain foresight for 2 turns.

4 turn cooldown.

No damage just disabling one target, and protecting himself.


I think this would bring him up to atleast tier 2 character, if not tier 1.

Giving him a lot of synergy with his hero Darth Vader, while keeping him close to the lore of the movie.

This is my first post, go easy on me but i would love to hear your thoughts

  • Instead of foresight he should either gain himself turn-meter or gain a lot of health back. (like 5's or ahsoka)

    I think the foresight is too OP especially for two turns.
  • I think they are all worded as foresight for two turns, as it would be dispelled after one attack
