Lame zaul meta

Whew... its so hard to get a comment in on this zaul thread...

The fact that there's almost as many Wedge leads in the top 100 as there is Mauls is a fact ignored by most it seems.

That's cause no one cares about the top 100

Maul 41%
Rex 22%
Vader 9%
Wedge 8%

It's still not at the levels people in here are moaning about. Just because their shard is Maul heavy doesn't mean they all are. And looking at the numbers shows there is a counter to it.

Just under a quarter are running Rex, when can we expect daily threads complaining about that?

You are running the most used #1 squad according to swgoh.gg. I'm glad it's still behind a huge pay wall, cause I can't beat it, if more people would run that squad I would drop to #20 :p 3 cleaners is just so though to deal with. I hope that, when my sith assassin is gear 11 and I have a DN myself, I stand a chance.

That said, droids weren't top. Old Ben, Dooku, Rey, sure. Droids have been solid for a long time, but never the best.

If we go by this definition in a game than zDM isn't meta and it has been losing ground fast. Just a few days ago on GG the #1 squad comp was Rex leader+Chaze+GK+DN and it was at 12%. Now check below - it's up to 15%. So if we agree that "meta" means only THE best squad than the premise of this whole thread is incorrect because zDM is not the best. The highest zDM squad % is only 7%.

I don't think that definition of META is realistic in a game though because it should include all top tier / top level squads, not just THE single one best. zDM is in the meta, zJinn Jedi comps are in the meta, R1, Rex for sure, DN leads...I've heard FO is a meta caliber squad though I haven't seen that personally on my shard. There's a FO team but it doesn't rank high - not the best built.

The interesting part is the extension of meta and that's when games are fun. Like zDV won't get many comments of being meta, but I'm actually seeing DN lead comps be >>>> zDM comps - like you can't even beat the DN lead comp on offense with zDM. Shocked to see this but it's true. However, zDV absolutely chews through a DN leader...so in the rock / paper / scissors world, I would consider zDV still meta even though he's not elite in terms of usage numbers now and he can't hold in a D slot well. But if a team is a hard counter against a meta squad it has to be considered in the meta and therefore a meta team. Until recently, Droids were absolutely a meta team as they could attain #1 with ease. I still love my droids and the most fun I have is using them in p2 with Jawa.

12 of the top 50 on my shard run zMaul. It is already on the way out. Lots of diversity on my shard.

You are right about one thing though - the amount of time I spend on the forums trying to answer questions, help people out, share insights and correct misinformation probably is a little unhealthy - thanks for you concern. I'll keep an eye on that. ;)

lol - yes, that's exactly how it happened. If you would like to have an intelligent conversation about the game, feel free to start a new thread or participate in the hundreds that already exist on a number of game topics. If you want to simply continue your ad hominem attacks, I guess you can do that as well - but that would be an unhealthy obsession with me - and likely just feed my over-inflated sense of self-importance.

Just because I disagree with a fellow poster about metas or previous metas, and engage in some friendly banter, there is no need for you to interject yourself and make personal attacks and judgements.

I love the Zaul meta. The Sith characters have long been a laughing stock in the game, despite being undeniably the coolest characters in the Star Wars universe. Maul was long branded a worthless toon.

It's about time Sith were on top, I hope it lasts a long time. And if you can't beat them, join them. Give in to your anger and join the dark side. :wink:
