The expose, the taunt, the speed, who cares - none of this matters. The reason you will lose to Poe is because he has a 100% chance to reduce your turn meter on the first turn he acts.
This is problematic for multiple reasons, but I enjoy it because, *GASP* THE AI CAN ACTUALLY DEFEND FOR YOU! The AI will use his taunt first every time, and it causes a chain reaction in that now all of your other guys act before the entire opposing team. It's lights out. Old Ben can debuff, DPS can take pot shots and go for kills, buffers can buff, ability blockers can block, etc etc... so by the time the opposing team does ANYTHING, they're screwed. They're attacking for chump change, can't use specials, and can only attack Poe... and you're already way ahead towards your second round of actions.
If Poe takes first action the game can seriously end right there. They need to change his taunt ability. Chances are they may add a % for it to trigger instead of it being a guarantee, or maybe they'll remove it for something else. Which is fine. He's still usable if this mechanic is changed, but right now the reason he's so powerful is because of this.
Talking about "answering Poe" by debuffing with dispellers is missing the point of why he's so broken in the first place.
Isn't that what a counter is? So he's broke - yet he has a reliable counter in dispelling? QGJ can turn his taunt in to a disadvantage by making the entire team Offense up - do it all the time. Also, that Old Ben setup is very beatable with a F2P farmable Dooku to put a stun on Ben. Poe has been heavy on our server since the day he came out - as has the Jinn / Ben / TIE, etc. combo. Gets beat frequently. Poe getting faster will actually help vs. Jinn if he starts moving before him. Can buff earlier and then whole team is offense up from the beginning.
I think it's bad to balance characters just on their ultimate meta placement - most of the players and game aren't played at that level ... but if we're going to go there than it totally has to be pointed out that Poe now, and Poe after the patch, will have a very reliable counter in the meta with QGJ.
I'd also say...sure there is a next patch....BUT THERE ARE MORE PATCHES COMING!!! What if other characters get more speed in later gears and Poe becomes slower on a relative basis? We also have more characters coming out in the future that could be released to have skills that counter a quick taunt.
No one knows the end game. The upcoming patch is just a temporary stopping point - just like the level 60 cap. Let's not act like it is some be all thing. Maybe Poe will be a great toon in the next patch from 60-70...fine. Your evaluation of Poe being broken is incomplete because we are not at end game and not really close and we don't have the majority of the eventual roster that will fill out the game.
