In the first sentence you are saying that the faction required for the GC should easily beat the challenge. But where is the challenge here? All it would be is do you have x faction built up? If so here's a free red crate.
The puzzle of this particular challenge was to find a way to win with 5 first order ships. Which you solved by using malev + 2 druids, rest FO. Others solved it using first order fleet.
In your second sentence you claimed to try well over 50 times and couldnt complete what others have been able to do without "cheesing" the GC. (Unsure if this is because you couldn't figure out a strategy, lack gear/skill upgrades or just got unlucky)

Most easily completed with the favoured faction =/= easily completed with the favoured faction.
