Let's talk stun guns...

I believe the drop rate is about 1/3 (or at least that is what I have seemed to experienced)

If that holds true, it would be much cheaper to farm for stun guns rather than buying in the shipments.

50 crystals for 120 refresh

120 energy / 3 drop rate = approx. 4 stun guns per refresh

50 guns required / 4 per refresh = 13 refreshes (rounded up)

13 * 50 crystals = 650 crystals per 50 stun guns

The break-even to be indifferent between spending crystals to buy refresh and directly from the shipment is approximately a drop rate of 15% I believe.

I would do the calculations again, but I'm currently doing this on my phone and it makes it a hassle.

This is similar to stun cuffs as well.

I hope this was clear enough for you to understand.

Of course this are pros and cons to the above as well.

For instance if you buy directly from shipments you can get it immediately, where as farming would take apparoximately 5.5 days and also depends on RNG (granted everything though even out to the demoted drop rate in the long run).

Farming for them will save you almost half the crystals (if you are using 50 crystal refreshes only). If you were to use 50, 50, 100, you're total would be apparoximaely 1,250 crystals for a drop rate of 1/3 which would only save you less crystals, but at the same time saving you 2-3 days of farming.

@Athusk Thanks that makes sense and helps a lot as to what I should save my crystals for! I guess it's my impatience speaking at the moment lol

If my 3/40 farm rate is any indication, buying the set is the way to go. I also buy 5 packs in fleet whenever I can as eventually I'll get a freebie stun gun set in between buying them, plus the occasional rancor raid drop.
Searching the forums indicates that the drop rate is 20% but either I'm getting terrible RNG or that's inaccurate or out of date. 10% seems more likely now.

I've been farming stun cuffs for the past month or so and I've made approximately 4 and I'm on my 5th right now. Like you though, I have had periods where I got 0/24 tries and bad rates like those, but at the same time I've also had spectacular drop rates like 10/12, 6/6, etc. in the long term it should even out as mentioned prior.

No problem :) I feel your pain though, I've been farming stun cuffs the past month and a half and it does get annoying at times where you get really low drop rates.
