Why do I go so often second with my capital ship even though I have the same speed?

If you lose the SF coin flip, use basics from Fury and SF to keep clearing foresight - your ships will be dazed so there's no point using the assist call and you don't want the heal until after their fighter is dead - , call Dagger and use the AOE to keep clearing foresight. After you call dagger, they'll sabotage your hangars but your next reinforcement is MK6 anyway so it doesn't matter. If their tank is still alive when you call MK6, insta-kill it then take out their SF. If their tank is dead, insta-kill their Fury. SF is super squishy so don't waste the insta-kill on her. Even if you lose the race to ult, as long as you have 5 ships on the board, you can target their mk6 and hit auto once fury is gone.
My SAss is R8, Malgus R5, and everything else is at unlock relics. The guy that takes 1st an hour before me has R8 or R9 on all his pilots. Sometimes I win the opening coin flip but his other ships always go before mine. I haven't tracked it but I win at least 70% of those battles and it's likely much higher than that - I'm being conservative because I don't have data to back up my claim.
