Luke Flash Events?

What happened to the Luke (Farmboy) Flash Events? Those were fun! Maybe add a new tier against stronger Tuskens with allies Old Ben and R2 at your side with 4-5 dot mods and/or Omegas as a reward? Thanks!

They were intended to help folks gear their Farmboy Luke up for the run-up to the first Luke Hero's Journey. That's long past, so there's no more need for them.

Since then, Flash Events have been retired because they were easy to miss and the rewards weren't that hot. Instead they've been replaced with one of the Nightsister monthly events, but I'm forgetting which one. You'll see the explanation in the relevant announcement when they made that change. Basically the rewards are higher, but you only get one success a day, though you can do it at any point that day instead of having specific times where the flash event occurs.

I get that, but what about players who are under level 85, or even only been playing for 7 months? Like my wife for example. She’s level 82 and hasn’t seen one of those events. It’s kind of unfair if she and other players alike can’t level Farmboy Like like we did. I also think it’s lame they don’t give old marquee events to new players either but I won’t get into that.

I’m not sure if “unfair” is accurate.
As a newer player, yes she will miss the rewards from these events. But she will also gain a lot of knowledge about what is required. We had farmboy Luke events because we were “surprised” by his requirement for the Hero’s Journey event. She has advanced knowledge of exactly what she needs to take part the next time that event comes around.

She doesn’t get free shards of characters from marquee events, but she gets to know ahead of time that arose is a waste of her time to farm. We had to find that out first hand. Etc. etc.
  • Probably another one of those things they got all excited about but then forgot to keep going because there's just too much to do.

Did they forget? Uhh... no... because... because... the events are supposed to be random and not make sense. Yeah, that's it.

  • Flash events were changed to the Advanced Tactics events we saw with the NS. Last time they were brought up Capgasp said he was busy but they were still trying those out.....

I completely disagree with you. For all new players it’s ridiculous to just “know” who is good and who isn’t - especially if you don’t check forums or YouTube and due to all 120+ characters to choose from. Most newbies (and FTP) farm who they like, learn to love the game, then chase the competitive meta. Not many just start playing and know the meta instantly. Plus, yes, we were “surprised” by Marquee events, but we still had plenty of hype and time to prepare. We got a “free” 3* Nihilus (and dozens of other characters that newbies miss out on) while they get the long road on all good and bad characters. Put this into perspective: if a free to play player started when the game came out (November of 2015) and played the best way possible to build their roster for 2 years (stopping in November of 2017), then a new player starts, today let’s say, and also plays for 2 years exactly, the newer player’s roster will be much smaller due to the longer farming process of all the marquee characters (this is disregarding all “new” characters that come out for the coming 2 years). That, to me, is deemed “unfair.” But good for your opinion.
