Kit wise it seems to be the most doninant of the six fleets, instead of introducing Rock Paper Scissors which makes sense since you will have to pay to get the rest of the ships for Malovelence

Two things about the Malevolence:
1: Overcharge seems to only be boosted when a ship attacks an enemy with Buzz Droids (the Overcharge buff doesn't specify how it can be added on in its description)
2: it doesn't fit in the Capital Ship Box

Aside from that, it is really fun. I hope its unlock isn't atrocious like the Negotiator

I think it is from light side geonosian TB. Or the same currency as Kenobi’s capital ship (like hyoda/wampa)

It seems like a fair assumption that it will be unlocked via GEC2 once Light Side Geonosis comes out.
