Ah, now I see it. It's misleading how they show gear lvl's. I thought I need to have those items to advance to that gear level, when it is to advance from that gear level.

For a moment I thought the nubians were useful once but a change in the game caused them to be obsolete, thus my confusion here.

Well, I still need a gazillion of furnaces and stun cuffs, which I'd much rather have, to get any use from these items.
