My App Store review - 1 star, titled: despicable misuse of Star Wars IP
I’ve been ‘playing’ this game for 3 years now..
At first, as a dolphin, then as f2p, and now I’m quitting..
Why?
Because this game is now blatantly pay-to-win..
Most feats (activities) now cannot even be completed if you don’t pay for the new characters like Inquisitorius, which you could only have at a sufficient level if you paid hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to purchase!
It’s as though the last 3 years of investment count for absolutely nothing, since only this new team can achieve top rewards!
Similarly with the introduction of Datacrons: there is no way, aside from spending yet more hundreds of dollars, to remain competitive with these potentially game-changing modifiers..
It used to be that swgoh was playable, even enjoyable on a small budget, or even as f2p..
This is now impossible, even for someone like me, with 3GLs (close to 4), a 6.7M gp account, Executor, Nego, Male, etc..
I am, therefore, going to quit playing, and I advise anyone reading this not to get sucked into this money pit, gambling platform that is a travesty of all the joy and beauty that the Star Wars universe has brought into my life
