I don't think this is true at all. Falcon is good but if you surround it with garbage not only will you have a hard time climbing, you'll fall like a rock.

You need Falcon, strong rebels (tough since most of their ships are multi-pilot, meaning a heavy investment in marginal toons), and a pretty solid Home One as well. Which hasn't been on people's to-do list for some time.

But you don’t need strong rebels on offense. I’m using Cassian at G9/10 to take out the opposing MF. Cassian attack + MF assist + random rebel basic easily wipes through the Falcon. All you need to do is survive the initial onslaught, which can be done with HT if you don’t want to use rebels.

When I first got the Falcon I was running Falcon (G12), Bistan (G8), Biggs (G12) with Cassian (G8/9), and Phoenix (G12 Ezra, G11 Sabine, crap gear on the rest) on the bench with very limited omegas and I was able to beat 430k power Rebel teams at a reasonable rate. Yes, I would fall past 50 on defense, but I could climb on offense. Now I’ve got both Bistan pilots to G12 with 6 dot mods and I’m holding excellent on defense, so yes, strong rebels help, but they aren’t essential.
