- Gear is much easier to monetize imo, and if you want to be top of the pile, you need the best gear and mods. Those two things should be the harder to farm things imo, as they encourage spending.
The problem with heroes from a spending stand point, is that there are only a few truly competitive heroes, or meta heroes, and those are all people will spend the money on, lowering the potential earnings. EVERY hero needs gear and mods, and lots of them.... those are where the money should be made.
I don't even have an issue with heroes initially being P2W, like Chaze etc. But I don't believe it should take me a month to farm someone like Mace Windu - This could be alright, but they could also add new gear in here that only a few elite players can get

- Gear 7-9 is the most problematic in my opinion. Gear heist would be awesome or gear event. What has helped me a lot. 300 crystals for the holos. They show up pretty frequently and sooooo many toons need them. Cuffs and stun guns in ship shipments help too.
I would suggest fixing the challenges but some of the devs were asked about in an Interview and they totally just passed over it. I find myself playing lower tiers in a lot of the challenges because certain pieces are needed more at the moment.
Something to help with mods would be great too.

I understand the gear crunch, as it creates the desire for people to spend money... but when you combine a gear crunch, with a mod crunch, a credit crunch, low drop rate on character shards, ship credit crunch, training droid crunch, sim ticket crunch, etc. I fee like it discourages a huge number of the player base from spending anything at all as opposed to maybe encouraging them to buy a few things to try and get that next piece of gear or just something. Agreed. Whales are whales, but regular players have no incentive to spend. If you open packs, you can't gear the characters. If you buy gear, you have no mods to make the characters competitive. If you buy mods, you have no gear. No point in spending to get through one bottleneck if each character has three bottlenecks and I'm not willing to spend $200 on a single character to push through all three.- Look on the bright side, at least there isn't a bottleneck on training droids!
