New Raid Idea for Rebels and a Death Star Stage

I think one more raid would improve this game. The two existing ones are very predictable and starting to feel grindish.

My idea:
First, have more stages for a single raid, (I think 7 stages would be good); and have the stages increase moderately in difficulty so that lower level players can preform better in the beginning stages.

A threat mechanic would be interesting where if a player starts getting extreme damage, like over 5 million with one team, then more difficult trooper reinforcements show up. This could replace the insta-kill abilities and enrage system and would be more thematic in my opinion.

For the theme, Post-new hope era. Rebels get raid bonus.
Create the raid with easier bosses and no insta-kill abilities. Have bosses like Vader, Emperor, Veers, Royal Guard etc., but don't have them get defeated, only withdraw to return possibly/randomly at the existing or future stage. Create waves upon waves of stormtroopers of various types, with supporting machines like AT Walkers etc. Make the order that the various bosses arrive random and if a player is getting really high damage, have a more difficult boss like Vader show up.

Finally, the raid could progress like a storyline. The first stages could start on a planet, then the next stage in space with ships attacking a boss like the Death Star or Executor, and the raid progresses like a story. I want to feel like my rebels are experiencing Rogue One. Similar to the door in the Rancor raid, there could be a Death Star stage where the player attacks the exhaust port, then has to survive waves of Tie fighters until the exhaust port can be attacked again. After ~25ish attacks on the exhaust port the Death Star explodes and onto the next stage.

I think the tank raid got close to this, but each stage is too long and too predictable. Also am not a fan of insta-kills or enrage mechanics. I think sheer numbers and strategy on the part of the AI would make a better defeat of player teams than an insta-kill.

  • Raids are by far my favourite part of the game so yep. More raids please.
  • Good ideas but rebels don't need more raid bonuses, they are already great in raids.

    Depends on the stage. They dont have any reliable turn meter reduction
  • True, rebels are good in raids already, but there is not raid in which they are thematic. I think dark siders could do fine in a raid like this especially with Old Dacha because reviving would be important.
