- SEREFRASSeasoned VeteranUnless I'm playing the Black Widow, then all bets are off. Meh, ha, ha, ha! >:) :D :p
- haloujaNew SpectatorAs my Sims age and die, it means I’m playing with a constantly changing cast of characters, which in turn keeps my game interesting. :)
- cyncieSeasoned VeteranI don’t usually play out lifespans. I tell stories about characters until I run out of scenarios, then I start a new game with new characters . So generally, I play with aging off. Deaths in game depend on the story. If it’s my main characters, no way. Others are on their own.
- I've been playing the same household for about 5 years now. The eldest daughter recently aged up and moved out so now I have a second household/save to develop.
- ShopGirl98New SpectatorI unintentionally avoid death but only because it makes me sad!
There is still a save somewhere with my and my husband's sim-selves which I stopped playing shortly after they became elders.
Usually I play with aging off and avoid death but I'm having a go at a generations style. My Sims are still fairly young and my green-thumbed Sim has a couple of death flowers on her just incase of any unfortunate accidents. So I'm not avoiding death in this save but I am being extremely cautious and will be sad when it eventually happens.
I think the saddest part is the other Sims being sad about it... - SweetieWright_84New SpectatorIf my sims don't age and die eventually, I get bored and delete the save. Sure, it's sad to see them die but it keeps me interested.
- I do feel pretty sad when it happens! Especially with legacy founders or Sims I particularly like. I used to try to keep them young/keep them alive, but it started to be weird when my founder sim and her daughter were both elders... I know that happens all the time in real life, but not usually in SimLife haha.
Also I am not sure if it's my playstyle, but I've logged just about 1000 hours since I got back into the Sims 4 and I have not once had an emotional or weather-effects death occur. Really weird, because I keep seeing that it happens to other simmers! - SiminDragonNew SpectatorIt depends on how I'm playing, and the mood I'm in. I have one save that I don't let any sims die. I have another save where my sim is in love with Grim. Death follows her where ever she goes just so she can spend a few moments with Grim. My current game I'm playing more like the movie age of Adeline where the main character stopped aging, but everyone else does. Plenty of death in that save due to aging. I have had times where my sim just did something stupid, so I no longer have that save since I didn't have any other active sims after they died. I let it go. In one save where I started to build a large family, I did save a groom once dying of laughter. Not sure I will do it again. Then there is one save when I'm tee'd off where no sim is safe, except the one I need alive to continue the save. Death can be fun in the Sims, especially when watching someone get electrocuted. I need to get around to getting a cow plant. I'm sure that could be a lot of fun....
- Karamazov123Seasoned HotshotAn opportunity to get rid of useless sims.
- LiELFSeasoned AceOkay, so... I chose this answer because I play with aging off and I don't want my Sims to age unless I choose to age them. So I've never had a Sim die of "natural causes". That doesn't mean I don't let them die otherwise, though. I like to leave their fates up to chance in the game and roll with it if it happens. Despite my love for "darker" gameplay, I don't actually seek to murder my Sims on purpose. Usually. I do have certain Sims created to "become" specific Ghost types one day because I just love to play various Occults and we can't create Ghosts in CAS. But it's really surprising how easy it is to actually avoid death without really trying. That's okay though, I put a lot of work into my Sims because I want to play them, not lose them to death. But just knowing there's a plethora of ways they could meet their demise if I'm not paying attention is good enough for me.
