To me, the key questions are about GP needed to 1-star Territories and about rewards. If deploying is enough to get enough stars and get better rewards than GeoTBs, then it's worth doing the new one.
Assuming that even if you don't have the any of the Relic requirements, you can still deploy your entire roster, of course.
