The weird thing about those missions is, success depends on using a gl. You need to consider the mandatory toon as just that, a slot you have to fill.
I didn't use a GL for the Qira mission. I used Dash, Han Chewie and L337. Got through it easily. I tried a bit of a different team for the Young Lando mission and got one wave, but I forgot to add L337 and Dash got smoked after 1 wave. Next time though I'll be able to do both waves. I used my GL's in other places.
