This is purely a speculative thread, but anyone care to guess how they pick the characters they let us choose from in this upcoming Galactic Chase? https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/250455/november-galactic-chase-forum-poll#latest We have 1 FO (required for a GL), 2 ewoks (required for C3PO), and 2 bounty hunters (may be used for Chewbacca) Only 1 of them is a pilot so far (you could make the argument that ships could be coming soon for Zam and/or Dengar but definitely not for the Ewoks). Over all, all 5 are characters that many here will already have 7*.
5 geos then a cap ship then 1 or 2 of these. I’m not so much worried about the characters as to the overall benefit to newer players. With the exodus of players, cg should be amping up the help to newer players to retain them at a higher percentage and speed along their progression.
So like I said the characters are fine, I wasn’t expecting a choice between gas/malak as the next chase or negotiator. However, if you aren’t going to do get currency characters and instead do marginal characters that have a need but aren’t spectacular, do more of them.
I’m getting shard currency and that’s great, but cg can’t expect players to take 5+ years to get to 7 million gp from zero and expect this game to survive five years. The early to mid game needs to be accelerated by some means other than money. This is the beginning of the acceleration but imho it needs to be more. Personally new accounts should start with the hyperdrive bundle for free or some major boost like that.

Of course, you are right, that's why I suggested characters like KRU, Bossk and Embo that would have literally the same effect for me. And honestly, I'm more upset because people are falling for cheap PR stunts. That means less motivation for CG to actually improve anything.

It's ok of you dont like this plan of launching thses kinds of events, its honestly not geared towards you. Yes this is a "PR stunt", and it literally is the effort you are saying they won't find the need to put in. No it's not going to be the perfect event each time, but it is helpful for players, and yes you can always point out how it could be better, but you could also recognize the effort and effect this will have as a long term process.

Feel free to dig up my posts from the time of the first Conquest, I think I actually got accused of being a CG shill at the time. It's not my fault that the game has been going downhill since then. I will praise them when there is something to praise, simple as that. One doesn't have to blindly gobble up everything.

It's free. Its geared towards newer/developing players, and hits that mark.
