No more new Legendary events?

They've been focusing on making mythic events for ongoing legendary and mythic events for assault battles. Now that all of that is taken care of, they can focus on newer events and a new legendary events. At least that's what my educated guess has been for a couple of weeks.

Just because we haven't had new legendary toons, doesn't mean they haven't been doing nothing. We had mythic events to keep us invested which have been pretty cool. Also, legendary events should be for some powerful toons not just anybody. Not a large selection to choose from

From what I recall hearing people say, there was a huge gap between the first two legendaries (Yoda and Palpatine) and the first of last year's wave (R2) as well. We'll likely see more at some point, it's just a question of when.

Hero's Journeys we'll certainly see again - Jedi Luke has to happen at some point, at a bare minimum.

That doesn't change the fact that the new content feels like one big pile of suck. I hope they turn things around. The fun of this game keeps bleeding away. It is beginning to feel more like a chore.

With most factions having associated legendaries there isn’t a lot of panic farming (aka cash grab) left. Therefore I think we’re stuck with marquee and character specific events (hero’s journey). Unless of course they add more factions.

Doesn't really have anything to do with what I said, but agreed. Between the Sith raid, ships rework, Traya showing up in arena, and now the new G12 gear, there's been a lot to dislike of late, and what there has been to like has generally not left nearly as much of an impression as the stuff to dislike.

Actually that's not true. Marquees are free.

Think of this as a business plan. We have seen this before. They need to stock the waters and give options. Then they will open up a legendary or hero that will require those toons to be swept up.

But they also have been focusing on gear and other way to let players advance.

What I believe Threx meant was that the money goes to starring and gearing the marquee toons after acquisition but prior to them becoming node farmable. Like how high star new marquee toons are made to be required in late phase TB but aren’t on any nodes yet.

There were big gaps between the original legendary events and for a long time we only had the 2. Then, to the OP's point, they gave us 5 new ones in a year, so now they're dialing it back down to work on other things and let players get caught up. There will be others, and in the interim I'm stoked that they introduced Mythic events so we can continue to play those legendary events. Unlocking a 7* toon is nice, but I'm personally glad there's a break between panic farms. The BB8 and JTR panic farms were stressful.
