Love the first part.
Second part, they already are more then 1, so this just defeats that, yes you are making them weaker but it defeats the purpose of a gc in this game.
GC s in this game represent the mass of that GC, that's how "1" storm trooper can stand toe to toe with mace. They are strong to represent that.
