Number of defensive squads allowed

Question

In the current TW 36 people from my guild have signed up. The game only allows us to deploy 16 squads per sector.

Last time we were also 36 but we could deploy 18 squads per sector. I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that were the numbers.

What are the rules that determine the number of defensive squads allowed?

I could be wrong, but I believe the deployable squads is determined by whichever team has less players. So if I’m not mistaken, it means your opponent has 32 or 33 players signed up - assuming that the odd number rounds down for deployable squads.

Thanks. I think that the odd number rounds down, but I believed that both guilds had to have the same number of players.

I remember seeing posts mentioning this same question and those were the most common answers. I believe matching is based on active galactic power of members that signed up.
