Because Yoda is a ancient child-stealing little goblin with too much pride to change, and forced his ways on an entire generation of Jedi (Well, more like 3-4 generations).
If he wasn't spouting about the Force all the time, Yoda would be very creepy. 1000-year old, tiny wrinkled little green goblin with magic powers, who wants your "special" children so he can train them how he sees fit. And if you don't agree with his, he can change your mind for you.
