Old Ben is certainly powerful, there is no doubt about that. But as has been said, once you start coming up against him, it's time to find counters. Ability blocks, stuns, debuff clears all now become valuable, where as before you were only concerned with damage.
If a team is my level and only has an Old Ben, I can tell you I will win that fight 100% of the time. He becomes truly powerful when he's coupled with certain other characters. Which, in turn means it's not actually him that is OP, but the combination that is OP, and I think that is quite fair.
Also I NEVER attack Ben first. He has an ability that buffs the entire team when he dies.
