Challenge is the best way to get 2, and I am a little bit surprised you get 0-1
It is not that hard to get to t8 where you get 2...
Cantina I get maybe 1 per month if that was a lucky month :D
And I have feeling that is you cannot get t8 on GC then hard conquest mode won't be good place to look for omi

Putting together good teams put a massive dent in my stable resource economy (20m Credits became 500k).
My advice: don't try and gear all at once
Make priority list
Choose 1 team
And gear 1-2 character at a time+ farm 1 other character for energy type.
Trying to gear all and now will most likely end up with nothing.
Even for people with much older accounts trying to get whole team at once will result in thousands of materials required and hole in budget.
This game is about managing you resources and putting priorities and following them.
