Overpowered character sets

Hello. There seems to be some character sets that are very overpowered when all of the characters are combined into one unit. The Nightsister set is the best example. The set which includes Old Daka, Mother Talzin, Asajj Ventress, Talia, and a Nightsister Zombie, becomes impossible to defeat at a certain point. The zombie ressurects repeatedly, and locks all attacks onto it, making it impossible to attack any of the other characters. Even with attacks that damage all, they are able to heal each other.

The other set which proves to be too difficult or impossible to defeat would be the Phoenix set (Ezra Bridger, Chopper, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Garazeb "Zeb" Orellios, Kannan Jarrus). They buff each other and give each other bonus attacks to the point that they absolutely destroy any competition.

These two character sets remove any kind of challenge for the person using them, and removes any fun for the competitor going up against them. Since these sets are so overpowered, many users have them, which makes the Galactic War an almost impossible challenge to complete, and the Squad Arena a boring chore.

I understand how having character sets that give bonuses are a fun dimension of the game. But these afforementioned sets are overpowered, and the fun of creating a customized squad of various characters becomes redundant. I, personally do not want to get these sets for myself, because I want to enjoy the game, instead of cheesing my way through it with overpowered character sets like so many others. If someone could look into it and find a solution, that would be splendid.

Thanks for reading.
  • In the last tw a group of ns stumped our guild in the first stage with 40 wins. Our guild isnt very powerful as we just started succeeding in haat about 2 months ago and most people are around 1.5M power. I took out two groups using AoE group, one being another ns group with z-assajj lead and the other lando.

Also i have been seeing there low power ns groups more and more in my arena. 4* mother and 3* zombie can beat 100k+ CLS lead group that took months of farming dedication to get.

I mean not a fan of cookie cutter teams that revolve around a faction. It ruins creativity. I refuse to run a team where all five members are the same faction

They need to buff leader abilities that grant bonuses to all allies, since the only good one right now is Rex

Mono-faction teams are too cookie cutter because they're handed to you, so you want them to hand you a mixed faction leadership ability?

Faction synergies are a large part of what makes different units viable. That a CLS or Ackbar lead bolsters Rebels makes a variety of Rebel units more attractive. That Palpatine bolsters Sith and Empire makes a variety of Sith and Rebel units more attractive.

If you take that out, you end up in a situation where titans are the only thing worth running, which is already rather a problem. It just becomes questions like, "Who is best tank?" Plug in General Kenobi. "I need some control." Plug Thrawn or Raid Han. And so on. You go from a couple dozen viable characters to much more monotone teams.

Looking at my own shard's leaderboards, not a lot of it is mono-faction. The Rebel teams tend to have Thrawn and/or General Kenobi. The Palpatine teams are dual-faction. The Rey teams tend to have two out-of-faction characters.

I do like the ackbar lead a lot. It's explicit benefits only go towards rebels, but it rewards you for running non rebels in a support role.

TBH, I much prefer the titans meta over what we have now. As strong as they were, they had several glaring weaknesses that made them easy prey for a smart player. Right before Rey got released, you could be successful in arena running nigtsisters with talzin, nightsister with just assaj and weak zombie, ewoks, first order, GK/zarris, or ackbar/hermit yoda teams. All of them could beat CLS pretty easily

Nowadays, it feels like you're pretty pigeonholed into running palpatine, Rey, or a Rex mix team to succeed in arena
