I thought you got credit for empty slots in zones you had exposed, though, I didn’t think you needed to beat the zone to get the banners. I’ve never faced this sort of thing so I may well be wrong.
As for the second one, those people are earning less crystals than if they just tried to win in their current league. Sucks when you’re matched with someone like that, but the “exploit” already does them more harm than good, so I’m not sure what else could be fixed.
The “exploit” does not always do them more harm than good. If someome can get only #5-#7 in Kyber 1, then it's actually better for them to throw the 4 battles they could win so they'll reach Kyber 2 next time.
