Starting in early March and running through early April we will be running 6 events around the primary cast from Star Wars Rebels. Please use this thread to discuss these events and their associated packs.The events are:Cantankerous Clanker - A daily battle event featuring Chopper. This event is an evolution of the Bistan and Scarif Rebel Pathfinder events. In this event you can use Chopper, but I expect most people will auto the first tier each day. There are 2 extra tiers with a little something extra to be earned once. I'm curious if you all find this to be a good improvement over the older Daily Battle events. We're discussing doing one of these per month (probably not until Summer though).Spectre One - A Marquee event and associated pack featuring Kanan. Although Kanan's synergy is aimed internally at the other members of Phoenix Squadron, he will also be a Jedi. And he will be the first Jedi with an active Taunt, so I'm sure there will be a lot of curiosity about him.Supply Sabotage - A Marquee event and associated pack featuring Hera.Art of Demolition - A Marquee event and associated pack featuring Sabine. Of note, Sabine will be tagged as a Mandalorian, but don't read into this too much. It's just a tag for potential future stuff. We're not going to do anything with it just yet.Honor Guard - A Marquee event and associated pack featuring Zeb.Practice Makes Perfect - A Marquee event and associated pack featuring Ezra.This is the first time we've done so many characters and associated events in one month, and it comes right on the heels of the Nihilus series. I'm curious to see what your reactions are, and the reactions of your guilds and fellow players.

Yeah sounds great, I for one can't wait!

Given the recent price tags, I would highly expect very selective purchases on these characters. The release cadence along with $450 tags pretty much ensures that most whales have to budget significantly.More characters are welcome for sure, but whales are starting to realise that the benefits of having all the new toons are limited since the game modes they can be run in can already be mastered using existing kit.Just saying, GvG or another relevant game mode will need to come in soon.

Hmm interesting but again all 5 new toons with similar format to the Empire duo and the Sith trio?I personally felt overwhelmed by the recent swarm of new characters being released. But I don't know if that's what mostly needed to boost the game atm. Apart from what Josh said- new game mode, the gear grind issue should be addressed too by having more events that rewards gears or something like that. These new toons are meaningless without gear sadly. But I'm pretty sure these new toons will capture a different group of buyers surely, so I think the sale will still be successful for the packs given SW rebels series is now approaching the climax of season 3.

If say Hera and Zeb are released as f2p as well to cantina node/store/ GW store/ arena store, and let Ezra, Kanan and Sabine to stay exclusive through the event and packs, it will be so much better. Majority have been dreading for new toons to be released to any of the available nodes or any GW/Cantina/Arena store. I believe this is possible and majority will welcome this update even better. Besides, once people have say Chopper, Hera and Zeb for free, they'll be tempted to buy Kanan, Ezra and Sabine as well to complete the Phoenix team they want to build and play with.I remembered you guys have done this well previously in one of the update releasing Cody to Chromium, Jawa Scavenger to Cantina store and Chief Nebit to Arena store. Hopefully the decision on releasing all this SW rebels toons apart from Chopper through Marque Event and packs can be reconsidered.Thanks.

As far as I'm aware neither Jango nor Boba is a proper "Mandalorian". Boba isn't going to get the tag AFAIK. Conduit asked Lucas but I don't know what they said. Based on what Pablo Hidalgo has said previously however, I wouldn't hold out hope.

As for the rest of your comment: We're planning to put one or two characters (not Phoenix) directly to farmable, but in general, TopHat's release cadence strategy holds. Doing the whole Phoenix Squadron for one month was too much for us. There were some complex reasons we had to do it, but I doubt you'll see 6 new units like this release again anytime soon (if ever). The Nihilus series worked incredibly well, so that is more like what big theme months are likely to look like when we do them in the future.

I suspect the two quotes are related ;). I agree that the way you are introducing the characters and the cadence is a wonderful thing. The sticking point remains the price and I suspect the boycott meant to let you know the damage and havoc the new pricing is causing may get drowned in the crystal purchases of those bringing the characters to four star and then subsequently gearing them up. But the point remains that premium introductions are coming too fast. There is no time to digest the expense, only a bigger expense in the next month. But I think we have all had our fill of this subject so I'll just conclude with, if you can get a price point back between dolphin and kraken you have a lot of revenue making potential left in this game.

I agree with some of the points above, especially the part about things being a bit overwhelming to many. In here we have die-hards, but my brother-in-law is that casual player who logs in 3-4 times a week and my 8-yr old son isn't far ahead of him. While both are FTP, having multiple new toons in a 2 week period with events around each may be a bit much. However, for those of us that love the game and research it regularly, we will be fine. Crunched for gear, but fine.

In these events, is it possible to up the gear you get when you unlock the characters? For example, opening Nihilus was a huge bummer when I needed like 30 of the Mk III MS Thermal Detonators to get him to gear 7 I think it was. Maybe a bit of a gear boost on the events associated with that specific character?
