Pilotless ships Vs Relic 9

So this probably isn't really going to be a huge issue, but the pilotless ships are supposed to be equivalent to a relic 7 (so I understand), so as we see more relic levels these ships fall further behind and therefore less useful. Now the same happens with older toons and their kits falling behind, but does this mean we will see replacements coming in? does this mean no more pilotless ships as they would already be at a disadvantage?
Just wondering if it is worth farming these other than the ones required for a GL?

I got thinking earlier (dangerous I know) with the introduction of R8 and soon to be R9 the bar is being raised again and again. This means that all ships that have pilots, including capitals will have increased crew power.

Crew Power is basically the only way to increase a ships capability once the skills, stars and level are maxed out (which is fairly simple to do in most cases).

Unpiloted ships such as the bombers for each faction however do not have crews and thus no crew power. While all the other ships will see some increases in stats with more and more R8s appearing and soon to be R9s, are these unpiloted ships now being left behind more and more?

The answer to the puzzle when it comes is ‘the punishing one’.

Would definitely be nice to have a full fleet for malevolence, raddus and finalizer before another incomplete fleet is added.

At least the executor will be closer to complete on day one than raddus is years after it’s release.

I can imagine ships with powerful AOE (R9 Kenobi and R9 JKA) just rule… just make strategies like tank taunting completely pointless
