If you've seen Hoth Leia in one of the fights, or Rey with lightsaber, (or the fact they already have Han in his usual duds has his own character) or that they specify which Chewy it is -- you'd see they probably won't do much with skins as written above because those are all possible new Toons.
The best you would see out of this is color change and helmet/hair changes. I'm all for it, but I think the precedent is that the toons will only really look different... as completely different toons.
Side Note: I think we'd like to see Slave Leia but it's probably not in the cards... not if you can write the number 69 in chat... *facepalm*
