Please get rid of Flash Events

This is the stoopidest thing in gaming. Please never us them and just have "EVENTS!" What a wonderful concept, right? Just straight forward events that you do when you get time.

Also, get rid of this nonsense of using a predetermined character otherwise "Event Character". This is also really stoopid. I do not want to use your unmodded character!

Open app. Open event. Hit T3. Hit auto. Done. 30 seconds. Check whenever. 5 pieces of good gear. Stop complaining.

I spent over 20 mins last night when I should have been sleeping trying to beat tier 1, which I couldn't do because the boss would randomly move for like 3 turns in a row hitting for 10k on those weak toons. Some of these events really aren't that easy and the rewards aren't that great. 5 pieces of salvage, some of which you need and some that you don't...woo hoo

The great thing about tier 1 is that you only need to beat it once, plus you get to use event characters so the only thing stopping you from beating the tier is a solid strategy

I work 3rd shift overnight, so typically by the time my Flash Events are even active, I'm asleep. Maybe I'm not "passionate" enough, but I do need to sleep at some point. I don't mind the events themselves, but couldn't they be active until you do them and vanish when the next one appears?

Because that isnt the point. It isnt just to hand out free stuff automatically. It's to get you logging in more. You're hosed as a night shift person, but that really shouldnt be news to you. It's the same with your arena payout and energy collection.

Ideally they would let you shift your time zone to better coincide with your schedule, but they shouldnt just give you 5 attempts whenever you want.

    No. Don't have enough time?
Too bad. Players who do will benefit from this fact. That's how you reward the more "passionate" part of the community which spends more time on the game.

Flash events exist to put pressure on players to achieve some arbitrary level before the event expires - this in turn contributes to the incentive to make IAPs. I think it is sweet but naive to think EA does this to reward passionate players.

Exactly, still waiting for that and I probably always will. Im fine forcing us to log in multiple times during the day but at least let us pick when the key one happens, aka arena payout

Mine appears at 3am and 8am so I have never done any flash event, don't really mind, kind if expect this **** after a while from EA

What the heck? Did you originally start playing halfway around the world or something?

Yes that is literally the reason. But their support center said they can't change my timezone

We all make life decisions, for those that are jobless or have a job that allows them time to do it.. that's why the life they chose... you chose to get a job that takes up your entire day with no breaks and I'm sure you great money... decisions decisions, get a different job maybe.

Do you live in the real world? Get a different job he says...

People are divided into 2 groups it seems:
Group 1: I have a job/family and would like the events to be longer.
Group 2: I have lots of free time and can't understand people with commitments, flash events are fine.

I fit both of your groups. I have a job that I work from 7:30 AM until 4:00 PM. I also have a family. I also have free time. Only two of the flash events run during a work day for someone working a "normal" day time job. The remainder run in your evening.

I have been running tier 3 for the rewards and it can be auto run. So it takes a few seconds to start the run. So, I go to the bathroom, start the run, put my phone back in my pocket and come back when I have time. That works for those two runs.

Then my evening runs I simply auto them again while home with my family. I can cook dinner and auto a run. I can watch TV with my wife and auto a run. She spends more time on Facebook than I do on swgoh if we are being honest.

I am all for changing the flash events to allow X runs per day at your own pace but it really isn't hard for someone with a job and a family to auto at least three runs at the event. Maybe you can't run them all but at least running a few is better than nothing.

Lol. You call it passionate. Denial much?
  • I disagree with the OP. I love the Flash Events. I enjoy the rewards and love playing the event multiple times a day. Sure, I miss one or two events, but that's okay, life happens and it isn't the end of the world. I don't mind the character setup or using characters I rarely use, it's a nice change of pace. As long as we get some notice on the character we need to gear/level and it isn't too diffcult to complete the hardest tier, then the Flash Events are fine as is. I hope they keep coming.
