Please Provide Additional Information on GAC Schedule Change
The patch notes from the 7-8-2026 update includes the following statement:
- GAC is getting moved forward 1-day for the Era rollover, this is a permanent change.
For being so few words, this is a very significant statement which requires more explanation. Is it just for the 1 week every few months which coincide with the end of an Era. Is it every week? Will any other events be adjusted to keep events separate and aligned?
Yes, the 3-hour window of panic between the end of Era and the registration for that week of Grand Arena Championships is a problem, and the effort to address this issue is definitely appreciated.
This 1-day shift of GAC has large implications. GAC attack now shifting from Wed/Fri/Sun, to Tues/Thurs/Sat upends many players real life schedules and routines. The occasional Thursday night "night off" is now gone, the GAC attack period also now occurs concurrently with the Territory War attack period on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Round 3 of this updated schedule essentially ruins the entire weekend. No longer can a player do their GAC on a Friday, enjoy their entire weekend free, and return on Monday for the final round of the week.
Additionally, this change also has a notable impact on Content Creators and their viewers, although they can address this on their own platforms.
Other solutions seem to make a lot more sense. Add one extra day to an Era, Shift the end of the Era by 4 hours later, adjust the schedule to allow Eras to end during the Conquest/TB week when there are no pending PvP registration deadlines, or add a mechanism to allow Era units to be pre-modded prior to the end of the Era.
SWGoH for many players has become a game built around a routine. For the most part, every event occurs at the same time each day and each week. It is that routine which allows many players to continue to engage even when some days are more demanding than others. We push through the demanding TB/Conquest launch on a Monday, we rush to get in all our TB & GAC battles on during Round 1 of GAC Week 2, predominately because we know there are downtime time days immediately following.
Please provide more clarity to the players in the situation. Thanks.
