In fact, yes. Many knew this could potentially beat gls. Without even testing it. Just reading it. Thought it was obvious it would cause some gls issues but apparently it wasn’t to CG.

And none of these guilds knew that every single GL beating Omi got nerfed historically?....

Like Wampa soloing certain SEE comps?
Like Dash beating JML?
Like Phasma beating several GLs?

We should, however, always be prepared for CG to be completely capricious in every aspect of their interaction with the community, so, while it's always disappointing, it's never unexpected.

Top end guilds may not need them so much, but I'm fairly sure MAW used Geos after the omicron landed.

High end Geos have long be a decent clean up team against weaken Rey, so with an omi on, it is not inconceivable that it can beat some Rey combo. I am pretty sure there is also some Rey combo that is not easily beatable even without the nerf. So the argument it wasn’t intended without clearly stated so is not a good argument.

In term of the investigation on this omi after it is released, I don’t think CG stated clearly that beating GL is unintended. The omi had other clearly unintended behavior as it is active in squad arena too, not just in TW. So CG’s message was thought to address that bug. Again, it is just CG incompetence without sufficiently testing.
